How It Works

Celebrity March Mayhem is 100% Free.

THE CMM TOURNAMENT
  • 64 celebrities split into 4 sections (Movies, Music, TV & Socialites and Weirdos)
  • Celebrities are ranked 1 to 16 in each section based on their historical points on Fafarazzi
  • The tournament will begin on March 19th at 8am and end on April 6th at 8pm. (To coincide with the March Basketball tournament)
  • The tournament has 5 rounds, semifinals and finals. Each round will consist of 3 to 5 days of scoring. Scores will be tallied from 8am to 8pm Eastern Time.
  • Scoring is based on Fafarazzi.com's automatic scoring method. Each time a celeb's full name is mentioned in the selected gossip blogs & entertainment news sources they will earn 1 point. You can read more about the scoring method here.
  • Scores will be posted from the following 15 sources: A Socialite's Life, Best Week Ever, DListed, Defamer, Entertainment Tonight, EW Popwatch, Celebitchy, I'm Not Obsessed, Perez Hilton, POPSUGAR, Scandalist, The Superficial, TMZ, USWeekly and WWTDD. Fafarazzi and CMM are not associated with these sites and brands. There will be no max daily scoring cap.
  • The winner of each match will be the celebrity with the most points tallied during the round. The winner advances to the next round. The loser is out of the tournament (single elimination).
  • There will be a coin flip in the event of a tie.
  • The celeb's points start over each round. (Think of it like a basketball game. The next round is a whole new match up)

MAKING YOUR PICKS
  • Fafarazzi users can make picks on who they think will win each match by creating a bracket.
  • Users may create as many brackets as they want.
  • A complete bracket is one that has all 63 picks and the tiebreaker entered - before March 17th at 11:59pm Eastern.
  • A user's bracket earns them points when they make correct picks on the winner of a match.
  • After each round is complete the bracket's point totals will be posted - ie. the points you've earned by correctly picking the winners of that round's matches.
  • Round Scoring:
    Correct pick in round 1 = 1 point
    Correct pick in round 2 = 2 points
    Correct pick in round 3 = 4 points
    Correct pick in round 4 = 8 points
    Correct pick in Semis = 12 points
    Correct pick in Finals = 15 points

JOINING A POOL
A pool is a group of people competing against each other. Each group will have its own leaderboard and discussion board.
  • Users may join as many pools as they want.
  • When joining a pool you'll enter one bracket - to compete against the other users and their brackets. You may not enter more than one bracket into a pool.
  • A massive public pool has been created (FafaPublic) for everyone to join and compete. Your first bracket will be automatically entered into this pool - you can remove yourself if you want or you may choose a different bracket to enter into the pool.
