HEY EVERYONE GIANT INDY 4 AD WE GOT LOTSA MONEY YEAH!!!!!

I went to Variety.com this morning my screen was immediately taken over by the following unassuming pop-up ad (this is shrunk down literally 60%):

Why a giant, in-your-face advertisement for Indiana Jones 4 on July 8th, 2008? It's either:

1) A renewed publicity blitz for a film that came out forty-seven days ago and has already grossed $736,568,865, as the ad itself mentions.

2) An ad directed towards studios and investors who regularly read Variety, in the hopes that Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford can wrangle up some future film work.

3) A giant, indiscriminate f*ck you to everyone and everything.

If you said #3, you are correct! And I don't need to tell you how valuable that knowledge is.
