Heidi Montag is heading overseas.
'The Hills' star says she and her boyfriend Spencer Pratt will soon be taking a trip to Iraq where she plans to perform for U.S. troops. Who knew they were part of her fan base?
'It's very important to me and important to Spencer to support the troops and go over there,' the 'Higher' singer told 'Extra.' But although she's released three pop songs, Montag's music hasn't exactly been a hit in the States.
Montag says her late brother Eric O'Hara, who once fought in Afghanistan and Iraq, has inspired her to take the trip. O'Hara, 24, a veteran of combat missions, died in March during an accident at a hotel in Steamboat Springs, Colo., where he worked.
Seems the couple has received some additional inspiration from Meghan McCain, the daughter of presumptive Republican candidate John McCain.
'I think Meghan McCain is helping organize Heidi and our Iraq trip,' said Pratt. 'Her dad definitely has some pull with the military. I think she's going to put that together for us.'
Montag is best known as the 'frenemy' of Lauren Conrad on the hit series, 'The Hills.'
