I didn't even know that there was a rumor that Javier Bardem had experienced a nervous breakdown. Before that information reached me, however, word of Bardem's denial got to me first.
When he was on the red carpet promoting Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Javier laughed off the rumor that a nervous breakdown was the reason for him dropping out of the movie musical Nine. Hello? Clearly he was avoiding any possibility of any awkward sex scenes.
Bardem said, "Do I look like a man who had a nervous breakdown?" Ha! I love it! Sultry burly men do not have breakdowns! I tend to believe him. Instead, Javier explained, "I couldn't come to Cannes because of my nephew's -- how do you say? -- Communion. It was a very big deal."
How does he manage to make church sound hot?
