If there were no athletic programs in Mount Vernon, I would not be the Denzel Washington that you know today,' the Oscar-winning actor said.
Random quote? Not really.
It was Denzel's love for his hometown of Mount Vernon that pushed him to donate $100,000 to its sports programs! After an extensive budget cut, Mount Vernon decided to cut all of it's after school programs and the Hollywood hunk stepped in to save the day!
Way to go Denzel!
