Madonna Sues Over Stolen Wedding Photos
Madonna has won an invasion of privacy suit against the British tabloid Mail on Sunday which published stolen pictures of her 2000 wedding to Guy Ritchie.
Madge says the pics were stolen from her home in Beverly Hills by an interior decorator who then sold copies of the photographs to the paper. She is seeking more than $7 million in damages.
An attorney for Madonna said, by publishing the photos, the pop singer "was ambushed, for the simple reason that if the Mail on Sunday had told her what they intended to do, the claimant would have sought and obtained an injunction."
The newspaper, who paid about $6,000 for the photos, made "no attempt to defend what it did" and admitted to breach of privacy and copyright.
Despite admissions made by the newspaper, an apology had not yet been made to Madonna, according to her attorneys.
Is certainly seems the paper should have to pay -- but how much is fair?
