Jennifer Garner was on the Late Show with David Letterman last night. Letterman was suffering from a sore throat and could barely talk, so Garner came out bearing a cup of tea with honey and made him drink it. Dave pointed out the kind of big wounds on Garner's knees and she said she got them falling down when running, explaining that people recognized her and it was embarrassing. At the end of the show Dave whipped out the Neosporin and applied it for her.

When asked about the origin of her three-month-old daughter's name, Seraphina, Garner explained that her older daughter Violet, three, sort-of came up with the name:

Violet, ever since she figured out that I was pregnant she said 'Oh that's Sarah.' We didn't know if it was a boy or a girl and we were like 'Oh you know, we'll see.'

We don't know where she came up with it, but she said Sarah consistently the whole time. We were saying 'she's not going to name the kid, she's a baby. We'll decide…'

So then the baby was born, still no name. She looked really angelic. I mean we started thinking of angel kinds of names and then a week into it we hadn't so we just went with what Violet wanted. Seraphina means little angel and the thing we like about it is that it means angel in every language.

How often does that happen that it takes a week to name a kid? Most of my friends figured out their children's names right away. We had a name picked out before my son was born.

Garner said it's much harder with two kids than with one and said that she doesn't get much sleep and just considers night to be a time when she puts on sweatpants and takes a couple of naps.

When asked if she's married to Affleck, Garner quipped that 'I'm still married to Ben Affleck' and told a cute story about how Ben gets to be in charge of their older daughter and enjoys his daddy duty.

Garner is promoting her film Ghosts of Girlfriends Past with Matthew McConaughey. The film is getting trashed by reviewers, but Garner said 'It's actually it's really good. It's a good movie, I'm happy to be in it' as if she was trying to convince everyone. She was a lot of fun on Letterman, and I would go see that movie just for Garner and McConaughey as I'm a fan of both of them.
