Sean Penn doesn't stop for striking workers

Sean Penn is one of the most liberal guys in Hollywood. He's so liberal, he gives liberals a bad name. He's so liberal, he meets with Hugo Chavez and likes it. He's so liberal, he can alienate half of America in less than a minute on stage at the Oscars. You get the picture. Sean Penn is going to be in for whatever leftie cause you can throw at him.

Except there seems to be one leftie cause that he's not up for. Page Six is reporting that Sean is no friend to the working man! Apparently, while Sean was shooting scenes for Fair Game in New York's Essex House, he totally did a walk-by during a employee strike. Two hundred hotel workers held a work stoppage in the lobby of the Essex House, and Sean gave them a wave' of solidarity. For shame, Penn.

EXACTLY whose side is Sean Penn on? The Oscar winner was shooting his new flick, 'Fair Game,' at the Essex House yesterday when 200 hotel workers staged a work stoppage in the lobby.

They claim management owes them $1.8 million in withheld tips. One striker told The Post's Amber Sutherland that as the ultra-liberal star, who's known for supporting workers' rights, walked by the rally, he waved to them in solidarity.

And yet, a production assistant insisted that filming wasn't affected in any way. Penn's rep didn't get back to us.

[From Page Six]

This is most likely a really bad move for Sean's leftie credentials. Even if the production of Fair Game is one-hundred percent union (which it is), the locations where they're filming should be within union compliance as well. Add to this the extra political drama of the film they're shooting, and this could be a big deal. Fair Game is the film based on outed CIA operative Valerie Plame, with Naomi Watts as Plame and Sean playing Ambassador Joe Wilson. Earlier, it was reported that Sean really wanted Ann Coulter to make an appearance in the film, but that Ann had refused. What would Ann say about this?
