Angelina Jolie arrives in Cannes

Angelina Jolie has arrived in Cannes! Just in time to walk the red carpet for Inglorious Basterds Wednesday evening. The Gossip Girls are reporting that Angelina and Brad arrived Tuesday night, as they were photographed hopping out of their chauffeur-driven SUV'. This flies in the face of People Magazine's reporting from earlier in the week, where they had Brad in Cannes as of Monday. LaineyGossip had Brad in Cannes earlier in the week too - maybe Brad was there, but flew into the Netherlands to meet Angelina at the Hague? Or he just met her plane at the airport and they drove into Cannes together? We'll probably never figure it out!

Now that she's there, the gossip has become about the clothes. Women's Wear Daily has a scoop' on what label Angelina will don for her first red carpet appearance since the Oscars. They claim she'll be wearing a dress by Belstaff, the brand that designed several wardrobe pieces for Inglorious Basterds:

Rumors are already aflutter in Cannes as to what Angelina Jolie will don for the premiere of Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds' ' in which Brad Pitt stars ' on Wednesday.

Word has it the working mom is considering a red-carpet dress by Belstaff, the brand behind the military-style jacket worn by her beau in the movie. Belstaff, which fetes its 85th anniversary this year, is sponsoring the film's after party at the Baoli Beach, along with The Weinstein Co. and Universal.

The jacket worn by Pitt in the film will be on display, along with a range of Belstaff pieces due to star in upcoming flicks, including Amelia' with Hilary Swank and Public Enemies,' starring Johnny Depp.

In other Angelina Jolie-related news, Now Magazine is reporting a pretty interesting, if laughable, rumor. Here's the catch - it's a rumor I predicted several months ago, and I'm absolutely shocked the American tabloids haven't put it together yet. It seems that Angelina Jolie's had enough of Brad and moved on to pastures new.

When Angelina Jolie heard about Brad Pitt's secret trysts with former wife Jennifer Aniston, it was the final humiliation.

The couple have been leading virtually separate lives for months, but Angelina saw the latest revelations as a green light to start looking at a future without Brad, her partner of four years.

Lately it's been Brad, 45, who's been enjoying the 'single life' again, drinking with old pals and leading the lifestyle he used to have with Jen, 40, before they divorced in October 2005.

But now Angelina, 33, plans to let her hair down and recently she's been cosying up to her co-star Liev Schreiber, 41, on the set of their new film Salt.

'Angelina handpicked Liev to star alongside her,' says a source. 'They've really gelled.' The pair have also bonded over tensions in their respective relationships, since Liev is reportedly also having problems with fiancee Naomi Watts.

'They're in similar situations romantically,' says our source. 'Angie's having a terrible time with Brad, while Liev and Naomi have also had their moments. They've been pouring their hearts out to each other. Angie loves how fondly Liev talks about his kids and says he's a real intellect.'

There's no suggestion the pair are romantically involved, but it's a sign of how annoyed Angelina is after discovering that Brad's been in contact with Jen, as revealed by Now.

See how beautifully that rumor plays? It doesn't seem so strained, like the endless uncool Bermuda Triangle stuff. Even though I think it's total crap. I'm sure Angelina and Liev really do get along, and maybe they've even developed a friendship. But I don't buy the affair - I don't think Liev is the kind of guy to step out in general, and specifically not on lovely Naomi Watts, mother of his two children.
