Jake Gyllenhaal comes to Washington to visit Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon has been in Washington, DC the past few weeks filming How Do You Know, a film written and directed by one of my favorite writer/directors of all time, James L. Brooks. Brooks is known as an all-around great guy to work with and for, and his best known films include As Good As It Gets, Broadcast News (one of my favorite films of all time), and Terms of Endearment.

While seemingly solo in Washington, Reese was running all over town with her bitchface permanently intact. But her boyfriend/fiancee/whatever Jake Gyllenhaal finally came for a visit, and suddenly the bitchface disappeared! Hurray! These are pictures of Jake and Reese looking all lovey-dovey around town. Sigh. They really do look happy. Sometimes I do wonder if they're for real - most days I think they are.

How Do You Know has Reese working with Paul Rudd, Owen Wilson, and James Brooks' favorite, Jack Nicholson. I wonder if Reese and Jack have any scenes together. I wonder if they will even get along - Reese is not Jack's kind of girl. Jack's kind of girl is someone like Sienna Miller. I bet they'd get along famously. But I'd also guess that Reese is so much of a professional, she's probably on her best behavior when she's around a living legend like Jack. Perhaps she can introduce Jack to Jake. I can't even imagine what those two would have to say to each other. Jack would probably make a Brokeback joke. Oh, no. That wouldn't be pretty.
