Mariah Carey kicks off the celebrity performance tributes at the Michael Jackson public memorial service held at Staples Center on Tuesday (July 7) in Los Angeles.

The 39-year-old songtress hit the stage with her rendition of Jackson 5's hit 'I'll Be There.' She was joined onstage by Trey Lorenz, who recorded a 1992 duet of the song, which became Mariah's first worldwide number one.
