Mischa Barton Reportedly 5150

Mischa Barton has reportedly been placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold, also known as Section 5150, and is currently at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Access Hollywood reports that after a call placed to police from Barton's home at around 3pm Wednesday afternoon, a patrol car arrived and reportedly helped Mischa with 'a medical issue'.

When asked about the incident, an LAPD spokesperson declined to comment directly, but did say that a person placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold would be protected from disclosure under law.

Under state law, the hospital can hold Barton for up to 72 hours. A 5150 was used to hold Britney Spears twice back in 2008.

Mischa Barton has cancelled an appearance on the red carpet for the premiere of her film "Homecoming' in New York City. The director of the film has released a statement saying he was 'saddened' Barton could not attend and that 'she will be missed' at the premiere.
