The weekend box office saw a lot of blood and guts, with 'The Final Destination,' 'Inglourious Basterds' and 'Halloween II' topping in ticket sales.

'The Final Destination' -- starring Bobby Campo and Shantel VanSanten -- debuted as the No. 1 movie, pulling in $28.3 million, studio estimates show. The film is the newest sequel in the franchise that follows people who are pursued by death after a forewarning saves them from their original fatality.

Quentin Tarantino's film 'Inglourious Basterds' had another successful weekend, bringing in $20 million, while director Rob Zombie's sequel 'Halloween II' made $17.4 million in its opening weekend.
