The Peacock Gets Some Holiday Spirit

Joy! Just what the world needs - more crappy holiday specials!

Can't we just stick to the classics? Guess not when there is money to be made!

NBC has joined forces with Dreamworks to bring not one but FOUR holiday specials based off the studios animated hits Monsters vs. Aliens and Madagascar.

A Halloween-centric Monsters show called Monsters vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space, will find Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogen, Hugh Laurie, and Kiefer Sutherland all returning to reprise their roles as their characters fight, you guessed it, mutant, alien pumpkins. That just screams Happy Halloween! The show will air on Oct. 28th.

Madagascar is getting a more snowy makeover with a special Christmas-themed telecast called Merry Madagascar. Again, the gang all returns, including Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, and Jada Pinkett Smith, as their characters have to save Christmas when Santa crash lands on their island and suffers from amnesia. That bundle of Holiday joy you can catch on Nov. 17th, which if you are keeping track, is a week before Thanksgiving.

If these don't sound like your kinds of thing, good news- there are plans in place to make two more specials for 2010. So look forward to that!

Are any of U going to watch these?
