George Clooney & Elisabetta take London for 'The Fantastic Mr. Fox'

George Clooney took out his girlfriend/piece Elisabetta Canalis last night in London. The red carpet appearance was for The Fantastic Mr. Fox, an animated kids' film. Guess who plays Mr. Fox? That's right, Gorgeous George himself. Guess who plays Mrs. Fox? Meryl Oh My God, I Love You' Streep! How cool is that? Alas, Meryl was not at the London premiere (nor was most of this really great cast of voice talent). Dang! Instead, we're treated to George and his Budget Cindy Crawford, Elisabetta. Before we get to George's piece (Elisabetta), I have a question about what I think is his other piece'. His hairpiece, that is. It looks like a toupee, doesn't it? CB says that it's not, that she's sure he has his real hair. But that thing still looks like a weird piece of fur.

I know it pisses off some people when I refer to Elisabetta as George's piece, or maybe make a joke about how she's a working girl, so I'll give you something - her makeup and hair are flawless, and this is the softest' I've seen her look. I'm just saying, her features can come off as a little hard'. But from the neck up on this red carpet, she looks great. The dress, not so much. I'm trying to figure out the fabrics used on this bad boy. My guess is that the front is made of silk, and the back is some kind of treated (and yet still too-stiff) leather. I'm thinking leather' because you know that's how George likes it. And you know George could really care less that I (and many others) think she's got a whiff of working girl to her.

Before George walked the red carpet with his beck-and-call girl, he, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman and director Wes Anderson all participated in the press conference in London. Of course Clooney got some questions about romance, marriage and babies. George is a champ at deflecting, though:

Believe it or not, perpetual bachelor George Clooney sees lots of children in his future.

They're just not his own.

'I'm going to adopt some of Brad Pitt's kids. I owe him a few,' he joked at Wednesday's press conference in London for his new flick Fantastic Mr. Fox, based on Roald Dahl's book and set to open in the U.S. Nov. 25.

The notorious ladies' man, 48, mostly recently spotted on the arm of Italian TV presenter Elisabetta Canalis, says he feels like he's skipped from the dad stage straight to granddad status.

He says this seems especially so considering the fact that in the stop-motion animated Fantastic Mr. Fox he voices the role of the father to the character played by 29-year-old Jason Schwartzman (who recently married clothing designer Brady Cunningham).

'Just having Jason here next to me makes me feel like a father,' he quipped. 'He just got married, so I feel like a grandfather. I'm jumping right into it. I will bring lots of kids to the red carpet.'

If Clooney wasn't so busy making jokes, I'm sure Brad would want to bring the older kids to the film. It is, after all, a kid's film. But kids are not Clooney's bag, baby. Not unless they're his date. And no, I'm taking about Polanski sh-t, I'm just saying Clooney's big leap this year was dating a girl over the age of 29. Who likes leather. Just sayin'.
