Akon Crowd Surfs To Break Up Fight

This YouTube video reveals the moment Akon risked his own safety and dived into a crowd of fans to stop a fight when violence erupted at a concert he was giving in the Australian city of Melbourne.

Police were called to the scene and 18 people, including two security guards, were injured.

The rapper claimed he jumped in to stop brawls that broke out due to rival gangs both inside and outside the Melbourne Park venue. A group of up to 50 people rushed the entrance at about 9pm in a bid to gain entry to the concert.

Akon can be seen walking through the crowd telling fans to keep calm as he climbs on the shoulders of one of his minders and pleads with the crowd, saying:

"I don't know if you know how hard it took me to get here ... it took almost two years for Australia to let me back in the country and I'm gonna let them f*** up my concert tonight!"
