Mamma Mia Minus ABBA?

Then what is the point?

We reported recently that some of the cast members are eager to return to the sequel of Mamma Mia, provided that the catchy tunes of ABBA were involved.

Now, we are hearing that we will most likely be getting Mamma Mia 2 but WITHOUT the sweet sounds from Sweden. Recently, Benny Andersson, the man behind ABBA's biggest hits, insisted there would no more ABBA musicals.

Catherine Johnson ['Mamma Mia!' screenwriter] is keen on working on something that has to do with her characters in the 'Mamma Mia!' movie - but it will not be with Abba music.'

Again we ask: THEN WHAT'S THE POINT???

How can you change musical inspirations for the sequel? That seems kind of lame to us!

However, if they are really going to do this, we're banking on either Donna Summer or Dolly Parton music to supply the soundtrack. We want to see Meryl Streep belt out some I Will Always Love You or Bad Girl!
