Sarah Palin 'Appalled' by Levi Johnston's Comments

Former VP hopeful Sarah Palin is firing back at the teenage father of her grandson after he made controversial comments on CBS's The Early Show' on Wednesday.

"We have purposefully ignored the mean spirited, malicious and untrue attacks on our family," Palin said, according to People.com.

Johnston, 19, claimed on The Early Show' that Palin had called her baby son Trig, who is afflicted with Down syndrome, retarded.'
