WTF? Movie Bites: Owen Wilson will voice comic-strip dog for 'Marmaduke'

In "Marley & Me," Owen Wilson played second fiddle to a dog. For his next film, he's voicing a dog that doesn't talk. WTF? Wilson has signed on for the title role in "Marmaduke," according to The Hollywood Reporter. The movie will mix CGI and live action (much like the comedy classic "Garfield") to bring to life the comic-strip about a great dane and his slobbery antics. Unlike Garfield, Marmaduke does not talk in the comics, other than the odd bark. That makes us wonder whether the movie will take great liberties with its source material, or whether Wilson will merely be asked to woof every now and then. Seriously, Owen, fire your agent. "Marmaduke" has a tentative June 2010 release date. Follow Zap2it on Twitter for the latest TV, movie and celebrity news updates. Related: WTF?
