Lindsay Lohan dated Heath Ledger and other things her parents shouldn't have told us

While RadarOnline isn't saying how they procured the 2008 audio recording of Dina Lohan telling her ex-husband Michael that their daughter Lindsay was dating actor Heath Ledger at the time of his death, considering the close relationship between the entertainment site and Michael Lohan it's safe to assume they didn't happen to come across it abandoned in the tape deck of a rental car.

Michael Lohan has said numerous times that he's trying to help his troubled daughter, but each fumbled attempt seems more geared at garnering himself publicity at the expense of Lindsay. It smacks of Jon Voight's pleas for estranged daughter Angelina Jolie to get in touch having the opposite effect of making the public very-much-aware of why she decided to keep her distance.

If true, we commend Lindsay for not capitalizing on her relationship with Ledger following his death. And, really, what good could possibly come from this revelation being put out there for public consumption now, nearly two years after the fact?

The recording also chronicles Dina's worries about Lindsay's use of of the ADD drug Adderall, drinking, asthma, relationship with Samantha Ronson and generally being "an irrational person who has a problem with her DNA."

On Monday (Nov. 9), Radar posted another recording from last year, this time a conversation between Lindsay's assistant Jenni Muro and Michael (seeing a theme?).

Having uprooted her life in Los Angeles so that she could accompany Lindsay to New York while she filmed the ABC series "Ugly Betty," Muro tells Michael that she spends her day trying to prevent Lindsay from killing herself and that she wants out "because I don't want it on my watch either."

The point of the tape, we presume, is to show that it's not just her parents over-reacting to Lindsay's behavior but others around her who are concerned as well. Or, at least, they were back in 2008 when the conversations were recorded.

Got it.

However, this public harassing of Lindsay to get help doesn't seem to be having the supposedly desired effect, so why continue with it? And why drag in the name of a deceased actor unless it's to make sure it's going to get media attention?
