Katie Couric, Alec Baldwin respond to Sarah Palin's 'Going Rogue'

A representative for both Katie Couric and Alec Baldwin has responded to Sarah Palin's characterizations of them in her upcoming book "Going Rogue."

In her memoir, Palin talks about her guest-starring role on "Saturday Night Live." She was in an episode that included Alec Baldwin, and says all her skit ideas were shot down. One idea was to do a skit based on how Alec Baldwin was supposed to leave the country after Bush was re-elected.

Baldwin's rep Matt Hiltzik tells EW, "They nixed the joke because the underlying premise just wasn't true, because he had never said [that he was leaving the country]." Hiltzik also reps Katie Couric, whose September 2008 interview with Sarah Palin is largely regarded as the exposure that Palin was ill-informed and unprepared to hold the office of the Vice President. Hiltzik's response that Katie Couric was "badgering" and had a "partisan agenda?"

"The interview speaks for itself."

It most certainly does.
