Several snubs - The Dark Knight didn't get best director or picture nominations(I'm sorry but I have no interest in seeing "Frost/Nixon", it looks like a snoozefest).

Also Bruce Springsteen should've been nominated for his song in "The Wrestler". I was a bit surprised to see only 3 noms, for that matter.

Wall-E for best actor in a leading role

As far as snubs, Kate Winslet wins the Golden Globe for best supporting actress, and is not even nominated by the Oscar commitee. Ouch.

The biggest snub, IMHO, was that of Clint Eastwood who was awesome in Gran Torino and did a fantastic job directing Changeling, a movie that actually transformed Angelina Jolie from a gun-toting, wet dream fanzine girl into a REAL actress.

I knew my favorite movie of the year: Wall-E, didn't have a shot at Best picture, but I was still disappointed when it was snubbed for Milk and Frost/Nixon, as Joyride said, both of these "snoozefests" will be available in the Blockbuster 1.99 bin as soon as they are released on DVD.

Viggy - my mom and I totally agree with this part (she told me she might not even watch the show this year):

I thought WALL-E was really cute and I'm glad it's up for something.

I thought MILK was ok but IMO "The Dark Knight" and "Gran Torino" should've been in there somewhere.

btw - which gun toting role are you talking about - Laura Croft or Wanted (or both - hah). I LOVED Wanted.

Wanted was okay...a lot better than the Tomb Raiders.
But AJ was kinda stereo-typed in her castings as the eye-candy chick with a gun. Whether that was Mr & Mrs or Gone is 60 minutes or even Tomb Raider. Every movie she was in before this featured of trailer of her half-naked and shooting something. (Not that there's anything wrong with that mind you.)

When the Changeling trailor came out, I honestly didn't recognize her...That is why Clint should be nominated. He made AJ act instead of relying on her fantastic looks.

Ah yes I forgot about her gun toting in Mr and Mrs Smith. That movie was pretty hot.
