The only one I really care about is of course, actor in a supporting role. If anyone but Heath wins I'll be shocked and disappointed.

OK, Meryl Streep kicks ass, Angelina is a talentless skank, Marisa Tomei is hot even at 44 or 46 or whatever she is. Hugh Jackman should be taken out back and shot.....

The dude makes me yearn for Billy Crystal.....

    Fuck me.

Quick observations thus far in my half conscious watching of this:
    Goldie Hawn.... on something?
Jessica Biel.... going to a toga party afterwards? or just done romping with JT?
Hugh Jackman.... could be be gayer?
    Beyonce..... Cue Etta James
Ben Stiller..... FUNNIEST part of the night.

Woody Allen is a wanker, his last 10 years of films have been self indulgent. Penelope is a great actress in a bad film. Rourke was a better actor than Sean Penn, but he will lose a lot of votes due to his douchery. It will be close, Mole needs Mickey to win to tie BM.

I wish the vote percentages were displayed on tv, it would make the broadcast more interesting.

I thought Hugh did a great job, he made me laugh a lot. I love Kate Winslet, I'm so glad she won but I wish Anne Hathaway could have too. And I'm so over the same movie winning every catergory. Boooring.

Best dressed was Anne Hathaway or SJP minus her hair. Worst was Sophia Loren lol

I was so excited when all the past Oscar winning actresses came onstage, but then that self-congratulatory BS they spit out was sickening. Oh Angelina, you're so wonderful... Oh Meryl you are the best ever.... and you all look so pretty... *bleck*

Oh and the best was when Halle Berry talks about HER film and then goes into the nominee's intro... *double bleck*

At least when then men were on a few of then tried to be comical and not blow smoke up all the nominee's butts

it was kinda cool tho to see some of the younger nominees get praise/spoken to from the older past winners. those things only worked well tho when the past winner spoke off the cuff or naturally, and not off the prompter, then it was lame and hard to follow.

poor streep had to get her intro from sophia lauren,, wow. eww.

    stiller was hilarious

overall i thought the show was really well done this year. a lot of little tweeks went a long way,, and the stripped down set gave it a nice feel

I would also like to say

    WHERE WAS PETER GABRIEL!?!?!?!

The singer (as adorable as he was) was not as good as dear old Peter...

I had the worst time with this too. It was SO uncomfortable! My eyes and ears felt molested.

Tis a good night for my Patel friends!

Ha!! The winners for Slumdog Millionaire had the best acceptance speeches. Notice they all added something insightful? I especially liked the sound guy who talked about "om" in his speech. Awesome. Oh, or the other fella who said, "I had a choice between love and hate, and I chose love."

I loved that no matter who won for what for Slumdog, everyone was excited.

Pan to director, producer, dev or frieda,,, everyone was elated for everyone else. They were the only cast that I felt was just so freaking excited and loved everyone moment.

    I agree, Megan.
It is like they were truly enjoying their experience and were so proud of their endeavor.

Props for Sean Penn as well for his gay rights speech. I know a lot of people hate when the Oscars are used as a political podium, but when you believe in something so passionately you have to use whatever method you have to pass along that passion and hope it inspires the same in others.
