Rihanna And Chris Brown Think Restraining Order Will Hurt Their Friendship

We don’t think we would want to remain friends with the guy that allegedly smashed our face into a car window, but Rihanna is a more forgiving person than us, it seems. This week, a court ordered Chris Brown to stay 50 yards away from Rihanna at all times (although at music industry events, he can come within 10 yards of her), but the former couple thinks the no-contact clause will get in the way of rekindling their friendship.

Brown pled guilty to one count of felony assault and he was given 180 days of labor service instead of jail time and the “stay-away” order. A friend of the former couple says of the order “it’s unnecessary and ridiculous. After [the proceeding], Ri and Chris talked on the phone for almost an hour and really worked at becoming friends. They’re solid now.” So they’re no longer BF/GF but they totally wanna be BFFs? How very Elaine Benes and Jerry Seinfeld of them.

The mutual friend, speaking to the New York Daily News, did promise that there’s no chance of romance between the pair. “That’s 100% done. They aren’t looking to hook back up again. They’re both moving on and going their separate ways.
