Posted June 27th, 2007 by GrandDrinksHerWineInACanThis is from the scoring page on the Help menu:
The Celeb's full name must be in the title or the body of the post
Fafarazzi uses the celebrity's full name for scoring. Nicknames and first names are not unique enough to allow for accurate scoring. Some common mispellings (like Courteney and Courtney) have been added, but purposely mispelled names will not be scored (like Parasite Hilton and Lindsay Blohan)
Fafarazzi uses the blog's RSS feed for scoring.
In order to enable timely and accurate scoring we use the RSS feeds of the scoring blogs. The RSS feed is a syndicated view of new posts on the blog. Some blogs use full feeds while others use partial feeds. Partial feeds often contain enough information to be accurately scored - however you may find a celeb's name mention on their site that is not in the feed. It's your choice as to which blogs to use for scoring - so you can choose whether or not to use partial feeds. You can get a good idea for what kind of feed the source uses by browsing around and reading some of their past scoring posts.
Delayed Scores
Celebs with common english words as their name may be flagged and therefore delayed. Some examples are Prince, Seal and Pink. Scores for these celebs will be tallied the same day, but you may find they are slightly delayed. This is to ensure accurate scoring for these celebs. -
Posted June 27th, 2007 by whenshebeginsyes but unless i just didnt see it in the two articles he got points although he was not named kevin federline.

WSB, I heart you! hehe
-
Posted June 27th, 2007 by GrandDrinksHerWineInACanSince the score is based on the RSS feed is it possible it was proper in the feed?

Posted June 28th, 2007 by buckeyeprincess508however there are a few celebs whoDO get scoring for nicknames... ie pink and 50 Cent as they are almost never referred to by their real name... i doubt k fed should qualify

This article gave points for kevin federline when he was referred to as "K-Fed" My friend got points for that, while I didn't get points for Britney Spears cause she was referred to as just "Britney". This isn't fair-and it happens alot. You have to be consistent with your rules. Take the points off for K-Fed or add points for Britney.

I think everyone is missing the fact that it has to be on the RSS feed.
Is there a way for us to see the RSS feed? -
Posted June 28th, 2007 by GrandDrinksHerWineInACanYou are right Jenn. I think Todd, Megan and a select few only have access to the RSS feed. What is in the article really doesn't matter, it's what is in the feed.
Plus I guess I just don't worry about it. It's just a fun game I play, but then again I have never been competitive. -
Welp, we've got our tail between our legs this time.
It turns out that Kevin was being scored for "KFed". We've now taken that out and only his full name will be scored. This was inconsistent to our rule on other celebs, so we've changed it now to be the same.
Past points for KFed won't be removed. We apologize for this oversight. We're still working through ways to make it more clear what names each celeb is being scored for so that it's more clear to everyone how it works. The main guideline still applies - Full name required.
We're also looking into ways to allow each league to further customize what they want for scoring... if you want to allow nicknames, and which ones. Feedback welcome, of course.
Sidenote: You can just view the RSS feed of the particular blog - it's all public and you can get the link either on the blog's profile on Fafa or at the blog itself.
