"Friends" star Matthew Perry and "Rescue Me" showrunner Peter Tolan have signed with Showtime for a pilot called "The End of Steve," a dark comedy about "an egomaniacal local talk show host" - isn't that redundant? - "on a reluctant path to redemption," says THR. ... The same trade reports that Wilmer Valderrama of "That '70s Show" has signed with Fox for a one-hour comedy called "The Emancipation of Ernesto." He'll play a lad raised in a Mexican prison who comes to Los Angeles in search of his long-lost father. ... And BuddyTV says that Michael Badalucco of "The Practice" has signed for at least one episode as a new member of the forensics team on "Bones." In the wake of Zack Addy coming out as a psycho killer, the show is apparently following "Scrubs" down the let's-audition-some-new-people path blazed by "House."
