Tonight promises an "international comedy battle" as the 32 comics who made it through the (long) audition process take the stage at the Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Bill, in his shiniest suit takes the stage complete with the requisite showgirls. And, sigh, it's time for him to do some jokes. At least he's moved on from the "1980s Jokebook" and kidded around about the slate of botox-ed performers on the strip like Tom Jones and my guilty pleasure, Barry Manilow, who he said has had so much plastic surgery that he couldn't do some of his old songs because he couldn't move his mouth. He also says he used to smoke pot and take ritalin so he could "focus real hard...on nothing." He delivered a solid set and the judges liked his energy. Belz said it was "smart stuff."
Phil Palisoul said the show was treating him well in Vegas - his suite even had a bidet - well, actually "a hand mirror and a squirt bottle." He also points out that people behave much differently in the car than they do on foot - for example, you'd never walk up behind an old person with a walker in a narrow ...
