Galactica Sitrep has added a lot of information to the flurry of recent stories about the upcoming "Battlestar Galactica" TV movie. First things first: Sitrep says Jane Espenson will write it, and the site reported earlier that Edward James Olmos (who plays Admiral William Adama) will direct the 2-hour film. "The studio has reportedly offered a deal to Dean Stockwell, and is interested in making deals with Michael Trucco, Aaron Douglas, Grace Park, Michael Hogan and Katee Sackhoff, among others, for this film," Sitrep noted. The L.A. Times' Showtracker blog has more from Grace Park on the TV movie -- Park said it's expected to begin filming in August. Yes, there is a chance that there may be more than one TV film, though at this stage only one movie is a go. If you're still wondering about when the 11 hours' worth of episodes that will finish off the series forever will air, it's looking like early 2009, though the Sci Fi Channel has not confirmed any time frame yet. No word at all on whether this new "Battlestar" TV movie will act as a bridge to the second half of the season...
