Some other news bits that emerged from CBS' day at TCA press tour: Katie Couric and her boss, Sean McManus, said she's not leaving CBS news. I can say, and I have said, that it's not true,' McManus said. In an executive session, CBS president Nina Tassler said that Sarah Chalke would be back for multiple episodes of How I Met Your Mother,' including the season premiere. Tassler also said, Right now, I don't think she's the mother.' The new character that CSI' will bring on board when star William Peterson departs after the first 10 episodes of the season will be a doctor. This man does not come in as the head of the unit but ultimately [is] going to work his way up within the team and ultimately become the head of the unit,' Tassler said.  The character has a very interesting DNA that is going to inform the duality of the character.' Tassler was actually referring to the DNA of the character, not his emotional makeup. He has an interesting genetic profile that in certain sort of medical contexts, they've noticed that many times serial killers have that same genetic profile,' Tassler said. She added that only he knows about this genetic information and that the character, who will be layed by an actor of stature,' will go on a journey of self-discovery.' Right now it's not a problem, per se. It's something he's curious about in terms of his own -- sort of his own genetic code,' Tassler said. I can see headlines 'Would-be serial killer joins 'CSI.' I mean, how would you phrase it?' one reporter asked. I wouldn't phrase it that way,' Tassler responded. At this point, I'm going to mention Moonlight' just to drive up traffic on the site (OK, I kid, but one reporter said during the session that he was tempted to ask a questions about 'Jericho' just to drive up traffic on our Web site.') No, Moonlight' is not coming back, but Tassler said she'd like to work with...
