The formal portion of press tour ended yesterday afternoon. Many members of the Television Critics Association headed back to their rooms to pack and split for the airport last night or this morning. But I sat out on my deck and sipped a freebie split of Champagne, listening to Wes Montgomery and John Coltrane on iTunes and the Eurotrash chatter floating up from Trader Vic's pollside patio. A huge orange moon rose over the Emerald City-like skyline of downtown L.A. in the distance, and I figured the cast of "Mad Men" was down there on their soundstages, still shooting re-takes for Episode 8. Awww. It was a moment. Then my room service pizza came, and I watched a repeat of "Two And A Half Men" on the 42-inch flat screen and went to bed. Because I had to get up early this morning. Dean was calling me to be on the radio, and then I have to get dressed. Like the remainder of the TCA, I'm rolling out of here in a couple of hours for a day of set visits. "ER," in its last season, "Pushing Daisies," "Chuck" and the sainted Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse." Oh, and "Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew." Then I start packing. Sometime this evening I'll post a report from the sets, especially "Dollhouse," which I know a lot of people are interested in.
