Posted May 20th, 2009 by Rick_Hearts_ShananayThank you, I've been trying to say that since Danny got kicked off. There's NO DOUBT AT ALL in my mind that Adam is gonna win.
Kris was decent last night, but Adam is just soooo many more miles ahead of him, both singing and stage presence wise. Kris is boring and plain(Oh, you can both piano AND guitar in one night?! Damn, we've NEVER seen that on the past 7 seasons at ALL....
Even though some people are saying that it might be better is Adam DOESN'T win, but I think he should win still.
If he doesn't end up winning by 10:00 tonight(or around then), expect a HUGE rant thread at 10:01 =P -
Posted May 20th, 2009 by lindalou1227Great review as usual and that final song by Kaka and her team was just awful. I feel so bad for both of them having to sing it. I kind of preferred Adam's version of it because it was harder to recognize the lame tune and crappy words.

Posted May 20th, 2009 by Rick_Hearts_ShananayO yea I forgot to mention....great review (as usual) =D
-
Posted May 20th, 2009 by ScottyMcNaughtyI thought it was a very uneventful final that coincided with a miserable original song.
I think Adam will win but do we really have to wait longer than 120 minutes to find out tonight? Why not make a show that will fall into the time slot? -
That song doesn't say much for Kara and team. It was just awful. Too high, Kris struggled through the whole thing. If that were his audition song, he wouldn't be here. I had to stifle a laugh watching Adam sing it, it is just so far off his persona. Really, really bad song, and no matter who wins and records it, I *really* don't want to have to listen to it over and over again on the radio. But what I really don't understand is why wasn't the key dropped to a level comfortable for Kris? There was no reason for him to have to struggle through a song like that, especially as the last singer in the final performance.
I still think Kris has a great shot at winning. Adam definitely has more talent, but he can't help but exude theatre. Not to mention that his style is probably too extreme to appeal to all of the masses. Kris is more the guy-from-next-door that the good girls and their moms love. -
They shoulda finished with Mad World.
They DO have rehearsals, they shoulda known it was going to go from great > good > meh and then reversed the order.
Adam outsang Kris last night, for sure, altho the last 4 performances were all blah. I think luvscows has a point tho on Kris' broader appeal
(UGH 2 hours tonight... too long!) -
Posted May 20th, 2009 by TheFamousFancyPantsLindalou - I referenced your comment on TV this AM regarding:
I kind of preferred Adam's version of it because it was harder to recognize the lame tune and crappy words. -
Posted May 20th, 2009 by MollWillGiveYaTerribleThrillsI dont even want to talk about anything else in this post other than the fucking kitten, glitter, unicorn, dream not deferred by hurricane, suck fest of a song that they were forced to sing.
What in the name of all that is holy was that steaming turd of a song?
THAT is the reason they brought her on the show? That is what she produced?
Ricockulous. -
Posted May 20th, 2009 by MollWillGiveYaTerribleThrillsUggh, that was supposed to be Ricockulously lame.
Now...
Could Simon have had his shirt buttoned down any more?
I thought Adam doing Sam Cook was brillant. Doesn't hold a candle to the original because the raw emotion in Sam Cook is just insurmountable, but it was a very moving take and performance.
Kris kinda looked defeated at the end of the show. I feel kinda bad for him cuz you can see that he is a super nice guy- Adam seems to have a hidden bitch side that you going is gonna come out like a glam diva. -
Posted May 20th, 2009 by ScottyMcNaughtyThey should have just had an amateur write the song again...I don't think it would have been worse.
It looked like a complete Kris sabotage after Kris's first song. What else was he going to do with "What's Going On?" or that awful original song. He had no control over the last two song she was singing and neither suited him at all.
Adam struggled as well and I didn't even know what he was saying half the time with that original song.
After such a good season, to have such a miserable finale is unacceptable and 19 Entertainment should be ashamed of themselevs.
This lasting piece of garbage of a finale might be the straw that breaks the camels back for me and AI. -

The first time I looked into DialIdol was 2 weeks ago for American Idol and i did not understand it. As I look this time, the tally is this:
Kris 61.14
Adam 60.04
There is only a 1.1% difference between the two. However, the margin of error is over 1.57% This does not state a clear winner of the competition.
However, I looked at the DWTS results from the finale... Shawn was 63.13 and Gilles was 70.02, and we all know what happened there. So, Idk how it's gonna come out... -
Posted May 20th, 2009 by ScottyMcNaughtyDial Idol is just a measure of the dial tone. There are tons of people that try to get through to vote but only keep getting busy signals and never end up getting through. Most of those people will give up after 20 or so minutesand say "Screw it...I tried".
Those numbers mean that there were a lot of people pulling for Kris but did those people end up getting through with votes is the ultimate question that we will find the answer to tonight. -
Even Simon wanted to take a shot at Kara's Mountains of Mush song, but restrained himself.
-
Posted May 20th, 2009 by lindalou1227Thanks FancyPants. Glad to be quoted...anywhere.

So LoriSkram's changes her pick at the last minute before the show. What's up with that? I picked Chris (but I'll be surprised if he wins) just to make the fafarazzi competition a little more interesting. Hey Skram...if I were you I would have kept Adam...your change means that most likely you're going down, too!
-
Posted May 20th, 2009 by Rick_Hearts_ShananayLike I said earlier, if Kris wins over Adam, I'm gonna scream and rant my ASS OFF on these forums. It's just not acceptable if Kris wins. I would rather quit Fafarazzi then want Kris to win.
-
Hey now, lets not be hasty. How about you quit AI not Fafarazzi?
If Kris wins, we'll give you a day to rant, but if you try to quit, we'll find you, hunt you down, and make you play games. -
Good comment Megan.
Scotty, you are right-on that this years finale was a big let-down. Kara's songwriting was full of riffs and reaching for falsettos, full of namby-pamby fluff and a poor choice for almost any contestant except Adam to try to sing.
While I wish the best for all contestants, I believe that Allison will be the most likely to have a great career ahead in the music industry. She can cross-over into several genres of music, and do well - like Kelly & Carrie. -
Dial idol was somewhat accurate early on this season but was WAY off on a few weeks in a row towards the late/middle. I dunno how accurate they can be with the calls being split out over 6 numbers?

Posted May 20th, 2009 by NandaPopotaWell, I was dreading the thought of seeing Adam sing another one of those rainbowy (I just made that one up, didn't I?) songs, but, I must say, it was better than I expected. Let me rephrase it: it was less horrible than I expected. "Better" presuposes something decent. Adam is amazing, but he's not a miracle worker! No one, and I mean NO ONE could turn that horrible piece of crap into a remotely audible song. I think this proves, once and for all, that Kara is bad at pretty much EVERYTHING she attempts to do. I wish some people would just spontaneously combust, you know. Like a natural selection mechanism. Nature says "You suck as a human being" and, puff, you're gone.
Well, to me, we have a clear cut winner. Adam is the absolute best all around. He completely outsang Kris last night and has been doing so all season. He's a better singer, artist and, I must say, a much more interesting human being in general.
It was the FINALE and Kris was still thoroughly convinced he was at a freaking luau or something. The clothes, man, the clothes. I said it before, I'll say it again: could you dress up just ONCE? I mean, he did wear a suit at some point, but those same horrible "too cool for this" green shirts just get on my nerves EVERY TIME!
Adam Lambert for the wiiiin! -
Posted May 20th, 2009 by Rick_Hearts_ShananayO.k. Megan, I wasn't REALLY gonna quit, I was just emphasizing my point =D But I'm gonna be SUPER pissed if Kris wins lol.
Nanda, I wish Nature could do that too. "You suck as a human being"; love that quote =D
And yea, I hated that "No Boundaries" crap-olla. Adam turned it into a semi-decent song-ish, but it still wasn't a song you wanted to hear. I don't really think Kara can do ANYTHING on AI. Sure, she has a good comment once in a blue moon, but she isn't a good judge overall. I even liked Paula's lip-syncing performance more than Kara herself. At least Paula is funny in a weird, out-of-this-world drunken way.

Final Showdown
The show begins with a montage of Kris and Adam's journey – complete with useless critiques/ comment from WOS(translation = Waste of Space).
Ryan says it all comes down to the guy next door versus the guy liner
The judges are introduced and Randy is wearing a look straight out of 1978. Kara is still there. Paula is glowing in flourescent green while Simon is wearing his typical finale attire: white button down shirt and jacket.
Kris and Ryan prance down the giant staircase – which was apparently built for the judges to utilize – though the addition of the 4th put the kibash. Past Idol contestants are featured in the crowd – surely cheering for Adam. Totally.
Kris won the toin coss(am I dislexic?) and he chooses to go second. I think Adam will blow him away anyway.
Tonight, they sing three songs - their fave, Simon Fuller's pick and the winning single CO-written by Lame-o Dioguardi.
Adam is first up with his fave, “Mad World.”
He floats onto a dark stage with a blue back light wearing what appears to be a black trench coat. I feel a bit like I'm watching a re-run of Angel. Ooh, David Boreanaz. Yum. There is blue smoke on the floor. Who's smoking a smurf? Wow, this is theatrical. I kind of feel like I'm at a Meatloaf concert. Ooh, Meatloaf. So not yum. I rarely enjoy a performance as much the second time around b/c I know what to expect, but his voice is stellar, as usual.
RJ loves that he's showing his sensitive side to start this duel. He loved the long coat and the fog. He gives him an A+.
Useless is so happy he sang this song. Blah, blah, blah.
Paula says, “Hey,” and Adam replies, “Hey beautiful.” Well, well, well. Is Paula the next Cher? Hmmmmm...not quite the same. But who knows? Perhaps this new generation knows nothing about talent. We shall find out tomorrow night. P is unbelievably proud of him and thinks he did a brilliant job.
Simon always thought this was his best performance of the season but he found it a bit over theatrical. It reminded him of Phantom(which is funny b/c I almost made that comparison as well but I thought Angel was more accurate). Randy argues that is was Twilight. So, I guess Angel was more appropriate.
Kris is sings his fave, “Ain't no Sunshine.”
My fave is still the song from Once, btw.
He's on the piano. OMG, I want to punch his John Mayer face. He's good though I still feel like he has to try harder. But he's just as good as most of the punks on that darn top 40 station called 96.7 Kiss FM. Love ya, Cruz!
Randy says the funny thing about Kris is that he can tell exactly what kind of an artist he is. Me too...as explained above. He thinks that was one of his best performances ever on the stage.
K Douche agrees with Randy.
PA says Kris awakens the spirit in all of us. There is a joke to be made here but it is escaping me.
Simon is being honest – he wasn't sure America had made the right choice with Kris, but he takes that back after this performance. He calls round one in Kris' favor.
Round two begins with Adam singing “Change is Gonna Come.”
I dig his look. Very updated Rat Pack in a shiny gray suit with white cuffs and baby blue tie. There are a lot of runs and riffs in this tune and it is well suitted for his voice. Good job Simon Fuller. I guess that's why he's the man.
Randy says Adam showed the real reason he is here is that he can sing his face off. That was unbelievable, he says.
Kara DioGagMe says that this may have been his best performance.
Miss P thinks that was the best we have ever heard him. Plus, she says, he looks like a superstar and that, no matter what happens, he will be iconic. From what I hear, Paula has never been wrong with her predictions.
Simon sez that Adam is 100 % back in the game.
OMG. Katie Holmes is there. Crazy!
Kris is back singing “What's Going on.”
He's on guitar this time. He does have an advantage since he can play instruments – not just one instrument. I'll give him definite props for that. My critique of this performance is the same as the one for the previous.
Randy says we got ourselves a real live duel going on. He thought it was a little light for this point in the competition. But, to be fair, Kris didn't choose this song.
KD Still Gag Me loves that he has been true to himself since day one and she likes that Simon Fuller picked a socially conscience song for him b/c he can deliver that kind of message. She says he can make people think, feel and change.
Miss P knows what is going on. She says he tore that song up and made Marvin Gay proud.
Simon loved the song, but, if he's being honest to Kris, it was like three friends strumming along in their bedroom to MG. He believes Kris did not grab hold of the song and make it his own. It was too laid back for a night like this. I just realized that Kris is rocking the half stache. Can't believe it took me this long to notice.
Simon sez round two went a million percent to Adam.
And now, it is the one hit wonder judge's penned song(one hit wonder as a judge, not necessarily a song writer), “No Boundaries.”
Adam is up first wearing stonewashed jeans? B/c the song is unknown, I must hear the entire song and both performances before I comment.
Before Randy speaks, the camera features a glowing KD. Puke.
R says, “Yo.” He said it before, he'll say it again...Adam can sing the phone book but this was not one of his fave Adam performances. For what I believe is the first time this season, he calls it “pitchy.”
On behalf of her co-writers, K Dumbass says it is amazing when someone of his talent level sings their songs.
Paula is in awe. She will be a fan forever.
Simon makes fun of the lyrics. He says Adam is one of he best, most original contestants they have ever had. He calls Adam a worldwide star.
Kris is up now singing the same crap song. Oh, wait. I said I would wait to hear them both sing before I commented on the song or the performances.
Randy says he should be proud of himself in this comp but points out that the key was a little high for him. He thinks the song fits his voice better than Adam's.
Kara does not want his voice to be judged on that crap song - I mean, that song. She hopes people vote based on the season.
PA-dog says he has done an amazing job to get where he is and he deserves it.
The voice of reason says that Kris' highlight tonight was the first song. He says Kris thoroughly deserves to be standing on this stage tonight.
I think the judges are with me tonight. The finale song sucked. Kris sang it best. But all around, Adam is a better singer, a better performer and a superstar.
Adam Lambert is your American Idol!
