Scoring Cleared and Changed
-
Our apologies to those who correctly picked Hubert for the first ep... its all washed away now.
The scoring stays simple (aka... no beeps, no missing ingredient, no fights, etc.) -- but will be based on their stars and then neg for elim and positive for winning.
So pick your 3 - and keep up on who is on each next episode. This works better because it doesn't penalize people for paying attention -- aka you could come out w a ZERO score for not picking anyone in the ep... while someone who tries picks and loses, gets negative.
As we do with most shows that are first-season, we skip the first ep to make sure we understand how the show will go. Yes, we did score this one, but in hindsight a different scoring system was needed - so they're cleared now. -

Gotcha. It says it's rounded up.
Maybe I should look and answer my own dumb questions some of the time... Haha. Like that'll happen... -

Thank you so much Todd and Megan!!!
I appreciate it! -
will winner of one episode cook in the next episode? OR better question being.....will Hubert cook this coming week?
-

No. The show rundown is like this...
6 weeks of the 4 chef faceoff. The 6 winning chefs advance. (A new set of chefs every week in these 6 weeks.)
4 weeks of the 6 winning chefs battling it out for the winner. They will probably do like Top Chef does and eliminate 1 for the first 3 episodes, and then have a 3-chef finale.
So to answer your questions: The winner will EVENTUALLY cook again, and Hubert will not cook this coming week. -
well that sucks for us winners of the week >=(
why couldn't they do that for hells kitchen finale(part1) when we lost our top spots for only picking one person(like we were told) -

Well, someone should've looked in the TV schedule and seen that it was 2 parts. And if everyone picked both people, everyone would've just got more points. So, the picking of one or the other just separated the men from the boys. (or women from the girls.) -
Megan, you say you've cleared out this rounds scores and to think of it as a practice round, right? Then how come i'm at -11?I even had Hubert on my team but now i'm starting out with a negative and i didn't get a breakdown of my team so what's up?Can anybody help this clueless kr8zygurl out, lol.

When I click on your Top Chef Masters team, it says that you have __ Points, N/A Points overall, and N/A points from this week's episode. And it says you have Tim, Chris, and Hubert on your team.
P.S. THANK YOU MEGAN FOR CHANGING IT TO HUBERT INSTEAD OF HEBERT!!!! THAT BUGGED ME TO NO END!!!!! -
Piba, thank you.I guess i looked at it before the change happened or i just had a moment, lol.

This is still a poor game setup. You should only pick one chef per episode, otherwise, people will score roughly the same amount of points unless you happen to be the unlucky 25% that didn't have the winning chef on their team. Basically we are only picking the worst of four chefs. That's not fun. Pick the best, not the worst. I suggest you rethink this game so we don't have to waste another week of scoring.
-
We thought through this a lot last week -- there are still the same number of variations for selections. 4. Before... you could pick one of four chefs ... now you are basically choosing which of the 4 to leave off your team.
The other way incentivized people to NOT pay attention or pick teams -- it made more sense for you, risk wise, to select 3 chefs that were NOT in tonite's episode. Then you'd avoid negative points.
The new way rewards chefs for the stars they earn - plus bonus positive and negative points for winning/elim. This ensures that paying attention and picking the chefs for each show is better than NOT paying attention... aka someone who has come on and picked their team once and sat at 0pts all season, rather than risking the +/- of making picks - which could have happened in the old way. -
I understand why you changed it from last weeks scoring, but if you would just have us pick one chef out of four a night and score the overall stars plus a bonus if they win, people will always benefit from picking "someone". It will be more fun too watch as well, since we will be rooting for one chef to win rather than one chef to do poorly.
As it is now, the end of the season winners will have picked the worst 1 chef to leave off each week. Doesn't sound too fun. -

The thing is, all Fafa games are set up to pick 3 competitors. This is a unique show that has only 4 chefs competing each week. Near the end of the season for all other shows when there are 4 ppl left, you have the option to pick three. Hell, you can pick 3 when there are only 3 ppl left! This show has a different concept and execution than all other shows. Just play it out and see what happens... -
Gotcha, didn't realize the set up options.

Posted June 21st, 2009 by suicidaldreamso how many chefs do we choose in this 3rd episode? im completely confused after reading this. sounded like todd was saying pick who will lose???
-

Pick 3 of the 4 people that have the 3's in their picture. (hoping Todd or Megan have done this already) You will get negative points for people being eliminated, but you get positive points for all the stars that they receive. And hopefully one of the 3 people you select will win the challenge.
This works so much better because the old method allowed people to have chefs on their team that were not in the episode and would score 0 points. But those of us that were picking chefs from the episode could end up with huge negative numbers if we did not select the winner.
Nice middle ground, Todd and Megan. Thanks! :) -

Togan hasn't put little numbers by week 3 chefs yet, but here they are:
Rick Bayless (The 2nd Rick in the list)
Cindy Pawlcyn
Wilo Benet
Ludovic (Luda) Lefebvre -
It's actually up but your cache hasn't cleared.

We've cleared out the first episode scores, just think of it as the practice round!
We will now score chefs based on how many Stars they get (total), Winning episode or eliminated.
This way you can still choose 3 chefs, rather than one.
This more fun, and doesn't penalize you for playing!
