Here are my thoughts on the over all show. I would've preferred to see Evan go before Jason but other than that I think America got it right. I was surprised both Mia AND Nigel said Janette was their favorite. I liked Janette too but definitely not my favorite of the 4 girls. So far my top 4 are still in - Melissa, Brandon, Kayla and Ade
LOVED seeing the past 3 dances, especially Ramalama.
I thought it was nice Katie Holmes was doing something for a good cause, but I thought the performance itself was pretty lackluster after all the build up. The guys dancing all around her gave a much better performance, while she basically struck a pose and lip synced. She did look pretty hot doing it though -

And double agreed on the Katie Holmes piece. Not nearly as amaaaazing as they were making it out to be. -

I was tres upset about the guy who left. He was my 2nd fav, but I knew his time was soon. I just wished he would've made it through to top 6.
As for girl, I thought she would be final 4. ESPECIALLY after Mia called her out as her favorite last night (and as Nigel revealed tonight), I thought she would be final 4.
Ramalama and Bench-great.
Seeing past alums-great.
As for the rest of the epi, I'm not gonna repeat what I already posted on the other topic- I don't want to be an annoying VH1 kiddie who posts the same people they like on every post about them. -
Posted July 27th, 2009 by broadwaystar32I don't necessarily think that Evan got pity votes - I think he's just got a big fan base. I think it's also because he's different. He's got a fun style that's different from other seasons, unlike Jason, Ade, and Brandon.
I just don't see much in Ade. He's good, no doubt, but he doesn't do much for me.
Was Nigel too hard on Nathan - or was it well-deserved?

Man, I am not happy with the results this evening. I think two of the stronger dancers were voted out of this competition. I hate to say it, but pity votes could be involved (ie Evan).
I realize that he's a talented dancer, but c'mon people - he was not the best dancer last night by any means, not even the best male. This is where these shows annoy me because those that can continue to add to the show are voted off.
Jason should not have been voted off last night. Were there times throughout the season where maybe he should have been? Yes. But last night was not one of them. He certainly outperformed Evan in every way last night.
As for Janette, I think her voting off was two-fold. First, she was paired with Evan which I don't think helped her (but it certainly helped him). The Rhumba was an unfortunate dance, especially for how slow it was. Secondly, her solo was wayy too slow for this late in the season. She should have been up there shaking those hips like there was no tomorrow (unfortunately, there wasn't). I think she failed herself there, poor choice.
However, she has been a stalwart ALL season and for her to go like that, feels almost like a slap in the face. I feel cheated that I won't be able to continue see her OR Jason continue to dance.
Who should have gone last night IMHO? Melissa and Evan. While Melissa's contemporary/jazz routine with Ade was incredibly brilliant and moving, her cha-cha was awful. Her solo wasn't fantastic either. We get it, you do point. Granted she picked the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and did a little more movement, but i was still underwhelmed. I think in terms of versatility, she's lacking. It was time for her to go.
Evan just needs to go. He brings down his partners with his inability to fully connect and his size (i'm only 5' 7", so I feel his pain but still) impacts the choreography. Evan when he gets his style he hasn't been AMAZING.
I"m just annoyed, can you tell? Geez.
I hope Jeanine wins. My vote for the final 4 is Jeanine, Kayla, Ade, Brandon.
