I love Ellen but she was terrible as a judge on SYTYCD. I guess Idol is easier since you don't need to know as much, technically, and Randy and Kara are so terrible, but I'm still wary. -

At first I was in shock, but the more I think about it and read Ellen's response I think it may not be that bad.
While the intial AI seasons were about singing ability, it has changed in reacent years to be all about marketability, packaging, and then talent. Ellen has been in the entertainment industry a LONG time, longer than some of you fuckers have been alive (I, for one, rememebr watching her come out on the Ellen show *crying* I'm fucking OLD). But my point is Ellen stated
" I don’t know how it happened myself but I have not missed one episode of that show. I’ve watched every single thing. I love everything about it and I love music, as you know. Hopefully I’m the people’s point of view because I’m just like you…I’m not looking at it in a critical way from the producer’s mind. I’m looking at it as a person who is going to buy the music and is going to relate to that person. So I’m hopefully going to be that voice of what we’re all doing at home.”
I agree, that woman loves music and if she plays somethin on her show, the masses will buy it from itunes. I watched her dance around the studio to Timberland today (yanno I STILL love The Way I Are) and she was grooving, the entire audience was grooving, and it was predominately white. Ellen has a large fanbase, she's hysterically funny, and she brings a fresh perspective. While I loved her on SYTYCD, I can see how her judging skills didn't add much but humor, but on a show like AI it could work. Imaging Ellen saying the shyt WE have always screamed at the screen but the panel never said, such as "why the hell did you sing THAT song cuz you butchered it and while the tweens might like it, the ppl that support the tweens financially will be offended!" OR "I would NEVER have that in my iphone"
I would piss my pants. Ellen single-handledly got me ready to watch AI and I haven't watched a full season since Carrie Underwood -

I might watch with Ellen
Ahhh, nevermind. Ryan Seacreast is too much of a douche. -

Totally agree Toni (except for the part about not watching since Carrie won). I've been watching her show a lot lately and I think she could be a great addition to AI. -
hey u copied my article Piba :O lol

Posted September 17th, 2009 by ScottyMcNaughtyI put Ellen in the same categorie as Whoopie and Rosie O'Donnell; as people who aren't remotely funny. I can't stand any of them.
I despise them and I don't know if I will be able to watch the show now that Ellen will be a part of it. She'll try to take the spotlight away from the contestants. -
Posted September 17th, 2009 by ScottyMcNaughtyWhy not Deborah Gibson as the 4th judge? She judged the forgotten American Idol Juniors program. She has music sense and did a decent job.
Deborah wouldn't be Paula, but then again no one can, but she would do 150% better than that no talent ass clown, so you think you can judge, Ellen. -
Posted September 17th, 2009 by ScottyMcNaughtyIf they thought their ratings had slipped in the last few years they are going to be unhappy when they see this years train wreck of ratings once Ellen ruins one of the countries favorite and most watched shows.

Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has joined "American Idol" as the show's fourth judge.
DeGeneres will join Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi on the show's upcoming ninth season.
“I’m thrilled to be the new judge on 'American Idol,'” DeGeneres said in a statement. ”I’ve watched since the beginning, and I’ve always been a huge fan. So getting this job is a dream come true, and think of all the money I’ll save from not having to text in my vote.”
DeGeneres will join the judges’ panel after the auditions, which will include guest judges Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige, Kristin Chenoweth, Joe Jonas, Neil Patrick Harris, Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry and Shania Twain.
“I could not be more excited to have Ellen join the 'American Idol' family,” said creator and executive producer Simon Fuller. “Ellen has been a fan of the show for many years, and her love of music and understanding of the American public will bring a unique human touch to our judging panel. I can’t wait for this next season to begin.”
"She is truly one of America’s funniest people and a fantastic performer who understands what it’s like to stand up in front of audiences and entertain them every day," said Fox president of alternative Mike Darnell. "We feel that her vast entertainment experience – combined with her quick wit and passion for music – will add a fresh new energy to the show.”
The news also means former judge Paula Abdul has officially been replaced following weeks of speculation about whether she would return to the show.
