We thought about this... being voted off with idol is basically one of the biggest reality tv bonehead moves ever - and it warrants a big point deduction.

I get what Nutters is saying, but I think it's the fact Galu hardly lost so many people forgot Erik even had the HIL - but not playing it when you have it in your damned pocked is worth -10.

It doesn't happen often, but when it does it is worth it.

Right. I get the -10. But not the -17. The scoring says -7 for being voted off OR -10 for being voted off with the idol. So the -17 stands? I agree it's "one of the biggest reality tv bonehead moves ever," but I don't agree with two different scoring options being added together.

Yea Nutters, -17 would stand because it is always -7 for being voted off and -10 is a penalty for the dumbass move of not using the idol when its in your possession. We've had the negative points for being voted off with the idol since...Gabon? FvF perhaps? It's not a new item at all.

And we often add two different scoring items together. What about the team/person who wins immunity also gets points for being safe every week? It happens more than you realize, that -10 is bitting your behind lmao

Nutters, I think it sucks to get the -17. But, I thnk the point is to really penalalize the person because of the stupidity of the contestant.

Like Toni said, there are a few other scorng items in this game and others where you can get extra points for certain items. So, somewhere along the way it evens out.

I guess next time you will know not to have someone on your team who has the idol, unless you think they will actually play it. :)

Btw, Todd/Megan why was there not points for "playing the idol". That needs to be added for next season.

I still disagree. If you want to penalize big for getting voted off with the idol, then make the option for -15. But it doesn't make sense to combine them. As for the winner of immunity being safe, you're only talking 1 point, not 17. Plus, by winning immunity they are automatically ensuring their safety so it makes more sense. It's like in fantasy football. If your QB throws an interception, you lose 3 points. But if that interception is returned for a TD then you lose 6. It's one or the other, not both....

I also got the -17 and I have to live with it. I can't believe Erik had no idea he might be voted off.
